What is it? It’s an aromatized wine.

Where is it from? It originated in Torino, Italy. There is now vermouth made all over the world.

What are the styles?
Dry (white)—used in cocktails
White (off-dry)—drink on the rocks or use as a mixer
Red (sweet)—drink on the rocks or use as a mixer

How do you drink it?
Sip it. Most people don’t really understand vermouth. They think it’s just an ingredient used in some old-school cocktails. Not true. In Italy and Spain especially, good quality vermouths are enjoyed on their own, usually over ice with a lemon twist. Off dry white and red styles.

Mix it. It’s still a standard cocktail ingredient.
